After four incredible years in our industrial building complex we are at high risk of leaving our Xabregas location due to a redevelopment.

What began as an arduous quest to turn a derelict industrial compound into a safe and neutral space where people could gather, mix, connect and express their vibing gray matter, turned into a micro-town of ideas, events and running projects.

We want to thank all the artists, creators & contributors to this project as well as our team who have worked so incredibly hard over the past four years to make Arroz Estúdios what it is today - a stage that promotes culture and innovation.

We need your support!

Due to the rental situation in Lisbon, to continue this project in the nature of supporting artists & communities, we need institutional support to find a new location.

We're urging Câmara Municipal de Lisboa to secure a new location for Arroz Estúdios in Lisbon, ensuring the project’s continuity. Join us in spreading the word and amplifying our message.

THE MOVEMENT

Cultural associations in Lisbon play a vital role in preserving cultural heritage and promoting artistic innovation.

Identity

Contribute to the city's dynamic identity. They are incubators of creativity, catalysts for change, platforms for social, political and cultural criticism, a space for individual and collective transformation.

Creation

They are meeting points for artists, places for creation and co-creation. Many integrate working studios and artist residencies, promoting creation that would otherwise not be possible due to the high rental costs of the spaces.

Inclusion

Cultural associations promote social inclusion since not all artists have the chance to enter the closed cycle of galleries. Associations allow their work to be exhibited and promoted.

About us

Arroz Estúdios

Arroz Estúdios is a non-profit organisation based in Xabregas, Lisbon, which offers working studios for emerging artists & creatives and a multidisciplinary space for events.

Our aim is to offer a physical space for artistic growth, where cultural events take place that contribute to the rapid development of Lisbon in a creative, open and multicultural way.

Arroz Estúdios works with local and international artists, always involving local communities.

Founded in 2018, Dynamic Sardine Associação (Arroz Estúdios) has set up shop in a warehouse in Cacilhas, next to the river. At the end of 2019, the association moved to Xabregas, where it remains today.
